The South African Red Cross Society
The South African Red Cross national office is based in Cape Town and consists of five regional offices, 29 branches and 80 local committees with over 5,000 active volunteers. The South African Red Cross Society asked Fireworkx to assist them with setting up a web presence, to increase public awareness of the work the SARCS do in South Africa and create a climate of transparency and accountability.
The site operates on the Producer Content Management System, which enables the South African Red Cross to maintain the content. Keeping usability and ease of use in mind, the Fireworkx studio produced a simple, clean, yet innovative design which employs DHTML features to generate an interactive experience for the user, while the dropdown menu simultaneously functions as a dynamic and practical sitemap.

Visitors to the website can find out more about the South African Red Cross and the Red Cross Movement in an extensive About Us section that also covers important information such as a downloadable location map for those who wish to locate the nearest branch of the SARCS, and information about the core programmes run by the SARCS.
Members of the public who wish to volunteer, become a member of the SARCS or donate money to support the work they do, can find all the relevant information in the "How Can I Help?" section which is easily accessible from the website front page. This section includes contact details and an online form for membership application as well as the SARCS banking details, accompanied by instructions on how to make a donation.
