Association For Visual Arts
The Association For Visual Arts (AVA), in partnership with Spier, is one of Cape Town’s oldest non-profit art galleries showcasing contemporary South African art in all media. AVA offers a large and vibrant exhibition space for both experienced and emergent artists. In addition to hosting exhibitions, AVA organises, through its active elected committee, a variety of art activities including workshops, concerts and informative lectures.
The AVA approached Fireworkx to redesign their existing website and reflect their new branding elements. The website is built on top of the Fireworkx Producer real-time Content Management System, which allows the client to effortlessly update the content on the website.
Characterised by its stylish and creative interface, which incorporates a neat and easy-to-use Flash navigation, the site offers information on the AVA; its Artreach Fund; instructions for submitting prospective exhibition applications, and special projects untertaken. In addition, the site visitor will find full details of both current and past exhibitions held at the gallery.
Features on the website include:
- a quick and easy artist search facility
- an interactive Flash floor plan, which displays photographs of the gallery once the user clicks on a hotspot
- a map depicting the location of the gallery
Visitors who wish to contact the AVA may do so via the contact form available in the Contact section.
Since the AVA is a non-profit organisation, Fireworkx has undertaken to sponsor the development and hosting of the website.
